Why a Tiny Home?

Tiny homes offer financial freedom, a smaller footprint, simplified living and the opportunity for adventure. Our homes can be used for full-time living, vacation homes, guest homes and even offices.

How Much Does a Civic Works’ Tiny Home Cost?

It depends on the model and level of customization. For example, a basic version of the Clifton model will cost $60,000, and a fully-equipped version with solar panels will be $70,000.

What If I Want to Design My Own Tiny Home?

If you already have a design in mind, we can consult with you to determine what’s possible. We can build homes up to 400 sq. ft.

Do All Tiny Homes Have a Trailer?

We build all of our homes on trailers so that they can be easily transported. If you are planning to put your tiny home on a foundation, we can customize it.

What Kind of Power Do Tiny Homes Use?

Civic Works’ homes can connect to the electrical grid. They can also be customized to run on solar power.

Who Designed the Tiny Homes?

All Civic Works’ Tiny Homes besides the Clifton were designed in collaboration with 84 Lumber, an American building materials supply company. The Clifton was designed by Living Design Lab, a Baltimore design firm specializing in architecture, interior design, planning and urban design.

Are There Loans to Help Me Buy a Tiny Home?

Yes – there are lenders who will finance Tiny Home purchases. We can provide you with a list of resources when you’re ready to buy.

Where Can I Park My Tiny Home?

Each county and state has different regulations. We can provide you with resources to help you determine what is legal where you live.

Who Will Build My Tiny Home?

All Civic Works’ Tiny Homes are built to Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) certification standards.

Our building team includes experienced staff certified by the Home Builder’s Institute (HBI). They lead Baltimore City youth earning HBI’s Pre-Apprenticeship Certification Training (HBI-PACT) to construct the homes.
